About Albertina Dancy
Albertina Samoht Dancy is a distinguished Psalmist, Evangelist, Mother, Co-Author, Motivational Coach, and Entrepreneur. She grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, in a spiritually nurturing environment provided by her late parents, Rev. Albertine and Catherine Dancy, which cultivated her profound connection to the Scriptures and traditional Gospel music, earning her the title "The little lady with the Big Pipes." With a professional singing career that spans over thirty years, Albertina's powerful and soulful voice crosses multiple music genres while remaining anchored in her love for gospel music. She has shared the stage with prominent Gospel and R&B artists and has collaborated with both national and international musicians, including the legendary Bill Pinkney and The Original Drifters, Gospel icon Albertina Walker, and South African Gospel star Deborah Fraser. Her educational background includes an Associate Degree in Administrative Justice from Tidewater Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Livingstone College, and a dual Master's degree in Human Service Counseling and Criminal Justice from Liberty University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's in Divinity at The Samuel Dewitt School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA.
Albertina made her musical debut in 1999 with the release of her CD, "Through the Struggle," which she co-produced with Doc Christian and which quickly sold out. In 2004, she was featured on Livingstone College (Salisbury, NC) inaugural CD and subsequently released her second album, "Appointed and Anointed," in 2005. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including induction into the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, recognition in Who’s Who of Black College Students, and substantial scholarships from Tom Joyner and NASA. In 2013, she released a tribute single of Stevie Wonder's "Do I DO," and in 2023, despite battling Stage 3 Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Renal Kidney Failure, she recorded the "Rebirth Experience Project," showcasing her resilience and commitment to gospel music. Known for her humility and unique style, Albertina is the founder of Great Pathway Consulting Group LLC and The Wellness Bartender. On April 10, 2024, she will launch "Music Heals" as an Ambassador and has been honored as the 2024 Liver Champion by the American Liver Foundation in the 757 area. With over 21 years of experience in Human Services, she currently serves as the State Hospital Liaison and NGRI Coordinator for Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, cooking, and interior decorating, and as a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, she embodies the motto of perseverance through faith.
